History
No one lived at Frostpeak before the Sundering — it was already a mountain range too cold for the Second Kindred to bother with. What changed is that it stopped warming in summer. The ice here doesn't melt anymore, and something enormous sleeps under it: the Ice Wyrm, which the Wardens of the Long Path believe has been awake, in some sense, since the night the sky first cracked above it. Every scouting party that's mapped the Reach has come back with a shorter route and a longer list of things they didn't investigate.
